Class description: Basic ECG interpretation is a 6-hour class that focuses on the fundamentals of the electro-cardiogram. The focus of the class is to learn to name rhythms, and build a foundation of understanding on what causes arrhythmias and how to treat them. This is a great class for clinical practitioners who are new to cardiac monitoring, experienced staff that would like to better understand rhythms, or anyone who is interested in cardiac monitoring and ECG interpretation. The basic ECG class will:
- Provides detailed content on cardiac anatomy and physiology, ECG equipment, lead placement, ECG waveforms and intervals, dysrhythmia analysis and interpretation, and troubleshooting pacemakers.
- Uses interactive content, engaging exercises and illustrations to impart knowledge and teach students not only the “how” but also the “why.”
- Includes extensive rhythm strip identification practice to build competency.
- Features real-life case studies to deepen learner understanding and sharpen clinical skills.
- Breaks down dysrhythmia interpretation by key focus area and concludes with an assessment that demonstrates subject matter proficiency.
