Our Services
Colonoscopy
Early detection and intervention help prevent colorectal cancer. The American Cancer Society recommends men and women begin colonoscopy screenings at age 45 and repeat every 10 years. Your doctor may recommend starting earlier if colon cancer runs in your family.
A colonoscopy is performed under monitored conscious sedation. A flexible tube with a tiny camera is inserted to allow direct examination of the entire large intestine. The physician checks the bowel wall for abnormalities such as polyps, inflammation, or tumors, and can perform biopsies or remove polyps during the procedure. Most colonoscopies take less than 45 minutes.
A colonoscopy screening is one of the most important steps you can take to prevent colon cancer. Visit our "Patient Forms" page for instructions on how to prepare for your procedure.
Upper Endoscopy
An upper endoscopy allows the physician to examine the lining of the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum (the first portion of the small intestine). This procedure uses a smaller flexible tube with a camera, performed under sedation.
Doctors recommend this diagnostic procedure for patients with digestive system disorders, including:
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
- Peptic ulcer disease
- Swallowing difficulties
- Unexplained bleeding
Other Services
- Routine esophageal dilations
- Diagnostic evaluations for anemia, persistent diarrhea, and other GI concerns
Please note: We do not perform emergency procedures, such as foreign body removal or active bleeding. Patients with complex medical needs are carefully evaluated and referred to specialists when appropriate.
