Dr. Kevin Morris wants to help people in the Upper Valley stay on their feet. Under a new partnership with Cascade Medical, Dr. Morris will schedule appointments twice a month at the Family Practice Clinic to treat patients with a wide range of foot and ankle problems.
Dr. Morris is a mobile podiatrist from Foot and Ankle Clinic of Wenatchee who travels to rural communities such as Quincy, Ephrata and Chelan. An independent practitioner, he leased space in the clinic starting in January because of the demand for podiatry here.
“We have a number of patients from the Upper Valley,” Dr. Morris said. “Cascade Medical seems very patient- and relationship-oriented, which is in line with my own practice, so I approached them about doing some outreach there so people don’t have to drive to Wenatchee as often.”
The Foot and Ankle Clinic of Wenatchee has treated more than 1,800 patients from the Upper Valley, including 800 from Cashmere, 700 from Leavenworth and nearly 200 from Peshastin and Dryden.
With 25 years of experience, Dr. Morris treats patients for diabetic complications, podiatric sports medicine, skin and nail deformities and other painful foot conditions.
“I tend to spend a lot of time listening,” Dr. Morris said. “It’s not just a foot, you’re really treating the whole person. I try to educate people about why it’s happening and how to treat the cause of it, not just the symptoms.”
He completed his undergraduate studies in 1984 at Washington State University and attended medical school at California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco. He served on the board of directors for the Washington State Podiatric Medical Association for over 12 years, and was awarded Washington State Podiatrist of the Year in 2001.
Dr. Jay Jerome, who helped facilitate the partnership, said the new service has been a welcome addition.
“He works collaboratively with the medical staff here to help our patients with foot problems,” Dr. Jerome said.
Foot and Ankle Clinic of Wenatchee manages billing and scheduling for Dr. Morris’ appointments in Leavenworth. Any related tests or treatment -- such as CT scans, x-rays, rehabilitation therapy or lab work -- is managed through Cascade Medical.
