Shannon Hafermann, PT

Shannon Hafermann earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology at Dartmouth College and a Bachelor of Science, Physical Therapy at University of Washington in 1995.

Shannon specializes in outpatient orthopedics. Her areas of interest include manual therapy and rehabilitation of the spine, knees, shoulders, elbows, small joints and feet. She is also trained in creating custom orthotics.

“I like to use my hands to get the little joints of the body moving well so it can add up to better function on the big-picture scale,” Shannon said.

Shannon was drawn to physical therapy because of the unique diagnostic skills it requires. She loves the challenge of discovering the problem and all of its impacts. She works with her patients to create a treatment plan tailored to their lives that improves overall function and prevents future issues.

 “Rather than seeing themselves as a patient for the rest of their lives, I’d rather help them frame it in a different perspective -- what can I do to be healthier in my life overall?” she said.

A native of Nebraska, Shannon settled in Leavenworth with her husband, Dr. Maury Hafermann, in 1999. They have two children.
