As you have no doubt read, the Omicron variant of Covid has taken a foothold and spread across the country with breathtaking speed. In only a little more than a month, the variant is on the inside track to being the dominant strain of Covid not only in our region, but around the world.
We have every reason to believe that Omicron is making inroads in NCW.
I’m sure you’ve heard that Omicron is just as transmissible as measles. Sounds bad, but I’m sure some of you are thinking, “well, ok, what does that mean?” Here’s what that means – if someone with measles walks unmasked down a hallway, and two hours later you walk down that same hallway, there’s a good chance you’ve still been exposed to the virus.
That’s what we’re talking about, and that’s what we’re up against.
It is because of this incredible transmissibility we once again find the need to pivot in in how we approach patient care.
Starting Thursday, January 13:
Cascade Medical will allow one visitor per patient, with an exception for two visitors for end of life. Guardians of pediatric patients will need to find alternate care arrangements for other family members for the duration of the appointment.
Please know these revisions are being made with the goal of protecting you in mind, and ensuring our facility remains open to care for those that depend on us.
